The Custodians of Ghanaian Labour Jurisprudence

The Labour Law Society of Ghana is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the development, promotion, and application of labour law and industrial relations in Ghana. We serve as the national hub where legal practitioners, academics, HR professionals, trade unions, employer groups, government agencies, and civil society converge.

We were founded on the conviction that a well-functioning labour market depends on accessible knowledge, rigorous research, fair representation, and a community of practice willing to invest in its members and the public.

Our Mission

To advance labour law and industrial relations in Ghana through research, education, advocacy, and access to justice — for the benefit of workers, employers, and society at large.

Our Vision

A Ghana where every worker and employer understands their rights and obligations under the law, and where the labour law system is fair, accessible, and fit for purpose.

Our Four Pillars of Advocacy

What drives everything we do

Pro Bono &
Access to Justice

We believe that legal protection should not depend on the ability to pay. Through our Pro Bono Programme, we connect workers facing labour disputes — particularly vulnerable and low-income workers — with qualified legal support. We also partner with labour agencies, civic bodies, and rights organisations to deliver legal education directly to communities.

Research & Publications

Quality practice requires quality knowledge. Our research output includes the Annual Labour Law Review, Monthly Labour Law Updates, policy briefs, case notes, and academic commentary — all designed to keep practitioners, policymakers, and the public informed and ahead of change.

Mentorship & Young
Scholars Network

The future of labour law in Ghana is being built today. Our mentorship programme, internship pathways, and Young Scholars and Practitioners Network provide structured support for the next generation — giving them access to experienced practitioners, real-world learning opportunities, and meaningful leadership roles in the Society.

Events &
Training

Our events calendar is the Society's engine — driving collaboration, continuing professional development, and high-level dialogue on emerging issues. From targeted webinars and skills workshops to our prestigious Annual Conference, we convene the people who shape labour law in Ghana.

Governance Structure

The Labour Law Society of Ghana is governed by a democratically elected Executive Committee accountable to the full membership. Our governance structure is guided by our Constitution and a suite of internal policies designed to ensure transparency, integrity, and accountability in everything we do.
