Four Pillars. One Mission.

Our work is organised around four interconnected pillars. Together, they give the Labour Law Society of Ghana a distinctive and comprehensive role in the national labour law ecosystem.

Pro Bono & Access to Justice

Many workers in Ghana face labour injustices without legal support. Our Pro Bono Programme is our answer to that gap.

What we do

  • Match workers in need with Society members who volunteer their legal expertise.
  • Partner with the National Labour Commission, trade unions, and civil society organisations on legal clinics and rights education.
  • Produce plain-language guides on key labour rights, available in English and major Ghanaian languages.
  • Train volunteers and interns to support case triage and documentation.

Who we help

Corporate workers, domestic workers, informal sector employees, workers facing unfair dismissal, and anyone who cannot otherwise access legal representation in a labour dispute.

Research & Publications

The Society is Ghana's most authoritative source of labour law knowledge products. Our publications are used by practitioners, judges, academics, HR professionals, and policymakers.

Our publications

  • Annual Labour Law Review — a comprehensive survey of legislation, case law, and labour market developments over the year
  • Monthly Labour Law Updates — timely summaries of new decisions, regulatory changes, and emerging issues
  • Policy Briefs — targeted analysis on specific legislative or institutional reform questions
  • Case Notes and Commentary — practitioner-focused analysis of landmark and emerging decisions

Mentorship & Young
Scholars Network

The Society is investing in the future of labour law in Ghana — by supporting the lawyers, academics, HR professionals, and advocates who will lead the field in the decades ahead.

What we offer

  • Structured one-to-one mentorship pairing emerging practitioners with experienced members
  • Internship pathways with the Society’s secretariat, committees, and partner organisations
  • Young Scholars and Practitioners Network — a dedicated community with its own newsletter, events, and peer learning programmes
  • Leadership pathways — committee roles, event speaking opportunities, and formal recognition of contributions

Events & Training

Our events are where the Society comes alive — bringing together the judges, lawyers, HR professionals, union leaders, and policymakers who shape how labour law works in Ghana.

What we run

  • Monthly Webinars — accessible online sessions on topical labour law issues
  • Skills Workshops — practical training for HR professionals, union representatives, and lawyers
  • Symposia and Seminars — focused academic and policy discussions
  • Annual Conference — the Society’s flagship event, anchoring publications, partnerships, and the year’s agenda
